The master plan is a significant milestone for urban development in the emirate. The authorities are focused on developing highly integrated transportation networks capable of handling thousands of vehicles per hour.
This massive infrastructure upgrade includes the construction of a 500-meter-long underground tunnel. The tunnel, located beneath the Al Taawun Roundabout in Dubai, features three lanes that move in both directions. This allows traffic to bypass the heavy gridlock on the surface and continue straight through the Al Nahda Bridge into Dubai. Noor Road will provide an alternative route for drivers looking for a different path. It is scheduled to be fully open by the end of the year. Noor Road also acts as a pressure relief valve for the existing highways in the emirate. This construction uses high-durability pavement and an advanced road safety system to ensure a smooth and continuous commute for daily commuters.
These new regional transit upgrades are focused on connecting local drivers with primary highways. This includes brand-new bridges, advanced slip lanes, and specialized directional signage that will direct motorists to the parking areas of Expo Centre Sharjah.

The monument was removed temporarily for deep excavation. Still, specialists have designed the final layout so that it can be reinstalled in its original location once the tunnel has been built.
Noor Road is a parallel route that runs from Al Orooba Street to the border of Dubai, relieving the pressure on traditionally congested roads like Al Ittihad Road.
